New York Times Summer Reading Contest

This summer The New York Times is inviting teenagers from around the world to add them to their summer reading lists.

Every week, they will ask participants to choose something in The Times that has sparked their interest and then tell them why. At the end of the week, judges from the Times newsroom will pick their favorite responses, and publish them at https://www.nytimes.com/spotlight/summer-reading-winners.

Free Daily Kids Activity Ideas

Now that the kids are out of school or almost out of school I am going to post some cheap or extremely inexpensive (think $1) ideas for things to do each day.

Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas and things that keep your kids happy throughout the summer.

Today's idea: Playing in the sprinkler.  Hopefully the weather is nice where you are.  Get the kids into their swimsuits and water the grass at the same time.  And if you live in an apartment building extra points for helping take care of the building's grounds.
