Also known as fever blisters, cold sores are tiny fluid filled blisters found around the lips. After a period of time the blister breaks, producing fluid and forms a crust. Common symptoms are itching and burning but fever, sore throat and swollen lymph nodes may also occur.

- Ice and Cold Water - Ice or a cold compress can help ease the burning sensation.
- Lemon Balm - Known to have antiviral properties. It can lessen the duration and intensity of Cold Sores. Apply a thick layer of lemon balm cream 4 times a day.
- Licorice - Also known to have antiviral properties and also anti-inflammatory properties, mix a tablespoon of licorice root powder or extract with 2 teaspoons of petroleum jelly and apply to the cold sore. Leave on overnight.
