ESSENTIALS

Baby Shampoo and Body Wash

A little bit goes a long way.  The number one selling product is Cetaphil Baby Wash & Shampoo with Organic Calendula, 7.8 Fl Oz.  It is reasonably priced.  At time of posting it is $4.97.

Temperature Gauge

If you have any doubt about the water temperature it's well worth the investment to get a bath thermometer.  They start at $1.58 (including shipping).

Hair Brush

If your baby has cradle cap a hair brush might be very helpful.  They start at $1.37 (including shipping).

Baby Lotion

Your baby won't need lotion right away but might eventually start to feel dry.  Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment Advanced Therapy Skin Protectant is the number one selling item.  It is on the pricy side at $13.74 for 14 oz. but the reviews say it's the best for baby eczema.

NON ESSENTIALS

Tubs, Seats and Cushions

Instead of buying a big bulky tub you can lay baby on a thick towel for a sponge bath. If  you want to check out the tubs here's a link to the best selling tubs.

Spout Protector

If you are going to use the tub or sink spout protectors start at $1.88 with shipping for the plain ones.

Towels and Washcloths

Baby towels that look like little animals are cute but definitely a way you can save by just using a regular towel and washcloth.  If you want to check these out the here's a link to the best selling towels and washcloths.

Elbow and Kneeler Pads

A folded up towel, rug or bathmat work well to cushion your knees and elbows.  When babies are little baths should be about 5 minutes or less so hopefully your joints don't have enough time to ache.

Rinser Cups

If you want to use a rinser cup instead of just a washcloth plastic containers and cups work just as well.  However they are not very expensive.  They start at $2.99 including shipping.

Toys

Even though they do nothing to keep baby clean there are some pretty neat toys and make bath time fun as baby gets older.  The best selling bath toy is a set of water pipes for kids to play with water flow.  They also sell many bath toys at the dollar store too.
