Invent Your Own Holiday Contest

Kids in Kindergarten to 6th grade are invited to share their ideas on a holiday to celebrate something or someone who has made a big difference in their community, including who or what would they celebrate, and how.

Submissions should be no more than two pages in length and can include both pictures and words Every submission must include the person or event that is being celebrated, the name of the holiday, and other important details such as special foods, colors, images, or customs that are associated with the holiday. 

Three Grand-Prize Winners will receive a party celebrating their holiday in their classroom and a class set of Carter Reads the Newspaper.

Five Runners-Up will receive a class set of Carter Reads the Newspaper.

Entries must include student name, age, and grade; teacher name; and school name, address, and phone number and be sent to:
