I really love this game. At first, I was hesitant, because it’s not the old version with the four Pac-Men and marbles, which I loved when I was a kid. The pegs as pictured on the box just looked kind of boring. But, my 6-year old daughter, who is a fan of the classic video game via the Apple Store app kept begging for this, so I got it. I was pleasantly surprised, and, in fact, like this better than the old 80s version. My daughter also loves it.

The game is surprisingly fun and my kids enjoy it. I think the game is pretty well thought out though it has a bias toward the Pac Man player by design.

Fun game for the family. Also, great cake toppers for a pac-man and sonic birthday cake.

Amazon has the Sequence Game on sale for $10.07, down from $24.99.

With touches of canasta, rummy, and poker, this game could easily become a Friday-night favorite. The object is to get a "sequence," meaning a row of five poker-like chips on the game board. The board itself depicts lines of face-up playing cards. Players place their "crowning" chips on top of the card pictures, and can form sequences by using strategy and knowing which Sequence cards to keep or discard. Forethought, luck, and backup plans are the keys to winning.

Kanoodle - Brain Twisting Game $6.71 at Amazon (Regularly $13)

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read the disclosure.

Amazon has the Educational Insights Kanoodle - Brain Twisting Solitaire Game on sale for $6.71 (regularly $12.99)

To start, pick a design from the puzzle book, place some of the puzzle pieces into position as shown…then fill the empty spaces with the remaining pieces. Sounds simple? It can be…or it can be deviously difficult, depending on the level of game play. Hundreds of possible combinations, but only one completes the puzzle.

I bought this for our 9 year old. He enjoys it, and so have his siblings. They are finding it addictive and don't want to stop solving the puzzles. I've been amazed at how good my 6 year old is with these puzzles. I have really been able to see how spatially gifted (or not) my individual children are with this toy. I highly recommend it.

I bought this to take to basketball tournaments to keep my youngest (7yrs, 1st grade) entertained during breaks between games. It has been a hit. I think many of my sons teammates (7th grade) even enjoy it. One of the players siblings (3rd grade) always hangs around and I can tell exactly what he wants. So when I ask do you want to play Kanoodle. It's always YES! Great game for a very wide range of ages.

I bought this on a whim for my gifted/accelerated 7 year old, 3rd grade son, to entertain him while traveling. He enjoyed doing the puzzles, and zoomed through the puzzles easily. Little did I know that it would become my almost-4 year old's FAVORITE game! She asks to play it daily, and works through the pamphlet's first twelve "Pro" (easiest Level 1) puzzles with minimum assistance. She will do them over-and-over! Sometimes she wants to move on to the next level, and does ask for help but enjoys working through the spatial shapes. It is also fantastic for her fine-motor and recognition skills.

$11.19 Educational Insights The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Preschool Game (was $22)

Kiddealz may earn a small commission via affiliate links in this post. Please read the disclosure.

Amazon has the Educational Insights The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Toddler & Preschool Board Game on sale for $11.19 (regularly $21.99).

Your forest friends are hungry and they need your help. Spin the spinner, squeeze the matching colored acorn with your squirrel squeezer, and place it into your log. Be the first to fill your log with delicious acorns and you win.

This game has almost 8,000 reviews and is rated 5 stars.

Recent reviewers said:

My kids (ages 3, 5, and 7) all love this game. It’s fun to play and easy to learn. Simply take turns spinning the spinner while trying to fill your tree stump with each color of acorn. (Spinning a 1 or 2 means you get to pick any one or two colors, a sad squirrel means you lose your turn, a stealing squirrel means you get to take someone else’s acorn from their trunk - strategy!, and a wind gust means all the acorns are ‘blown away’ from your own tree trunk). When playing this game, kids learn to take turns, strategize, identify and match colors, and even practice some fine motor skills by using the ‘squirrel grabber’ to pick acorns up from the box. It’s perfect for preschoolers and definitely mom approved. We love it!

This game is fun, colourful and creative but also excellent for young children to develop game skills of taking turns, spinning the wheel and strategy alongside counting, colours and fine motor skills in using the squirrel shaped tongs to select the coloured acorns.

My sons are 2.5 and 4 years of age and really enjoy this game. It is simple enough that they understand the basic rules and can master the manual dexterity required to play, and also makes them think a little about strategy. You can set it up and teach it in under a minute as well which is always a plus where impatient little ones are concerned. I like that the bottom of the box is effectively the board, it means that the game is all nicely self contained and bits are less likely to go flying everywhere - the shaped box is nice touch.

$5.92 Wonder Forge Jurassic Park Memory Game (regularly $10)

Kiddealz may earn a small commission via affiliate links in this post. Please read the disclosure.

Amazon has the Wonder Forge Jurassic Park Memory Game on sale for $5.92 (regularly $9.99).

It's the classic game of picture matching with a Jurassic park, dinosaur takeover. Take turns flipping over the colorful tiles to reveal fan favorites like Blue, Stiggy, T-Rex, triceratops, and more. For an added layer of fun, turn off the lights to see glow-in-the-dark outlines of the dinosaurs. Pick up the most matching pairs to win.

Recent reviewers said:

My four year old LOVES this game. It's a standard "memory" matching game, nothing new or special about it from that point of view. But she watches the show a lot, so she knows all the characters and vehicles. The set comes with a LOT of pairs, enough that it takes the two of us 15-20 minutes of flipping cards to complete the game. But then again, I'm old and can't remember what I had for breakfast, so there's that. My daughter regularly beats me even when I'm really trying.

The cards are thick cardboard, well made and colorful. Highly recommended as a cheap, simple form of entertainment with your kid.

My 3 yr old has always loved dinosaurs and recently has gotten into matching games. So it's not a surprise that he absolutely adores this game. There are lots of game pieces so we play with a subset of the matches. The price was very reasonable and it even glows in the dark which he thinks is cool. However since the game pieces spend most of their time in a dark box they aren't ready to glow right away and need to sit out in the light at first. But still, great game and great value.
