Have a Dance Party - Kids Free Activity Idea of the Day

Get the kids up and moving with a super fun dance party.  You can just turn on the radio, play freeze dance, or learn a new dance from an online video.

You could even make it a theme such as ballet, disco, hip hop, country line dancing, 50s sock hop...

Start a Journal - Kids Free Activity Idea of the Day

No matter what your kids age, have your kids practice their writing by starting a journal. They can practice letters, numbers or write about things they are doing over the summer.  All you need is a simple notebook or some paper that you can just staple together.

They can also add pictures or scribbles if they are toddlers.

Adventures in journaling shares some free printables if you think your kids will like a fill in the blank type.  Sections include items such as to do lists, memories, recent things learned, and more.  The site offers both color and black and white versions.

Flashlight Tag - Kids Free Activity Idea of the Day

Try playing flashlight tag.  It is just like regular tag, but instead of running around and tagging friends out by touching them you touch them with the flashlight.

Make sure to find a space inside or outside that is dark enough for the flashlight beam to show well and that has enough hiding spaces.

You can either have one person be it and hold the flash light or everyone can have their own flashlights.

You can also play against a wall if you want the kids to wind down or have a smaller space.

Wash the Car - Kids Free Activity Idea of the Day

Get the kids outside and have them wash the car.  They will love getting wet and soapy and helping you in the process.  They can even wash neighbors cars too.  In the end you will have a clean car and some probably really wet kids.
